The Historic Landmark Plaque Program
The Historic Landmark Plaque program was initiated at the end of 1991. Its purpose was to encourage recognition of and preservation of properties and structures in the Village that are worthy of note. The owners of houses featured in From Camargo to Indian Hill, and those in the then not-yet-published Treasured Landmarks of Indian Hill were offered the opportunity to purchase and display these plaques. The design was done by Ken Bradford; whose work on the Riverside Walk in Kentucky and Blue Ash Memorial Park had won many awards. The mold for the casting of the 11x17" solid bronze plaques was done by Art in Bronze (Sheidow Bronze Company) in Kingwood, West Virginia. More than 80 plaques have been placed so far. Another 75-100 buildings are considered to be eligible for the plaques. This will remain an ongoing program of the Indian Hill Historical Society. Any structure in the Village may be nominated by its owner for a plaque. Determination of eligibility (based on the Plaque Criteria) will be made by the plaque committee.
